About

Centre Philosophy

Our philosophy focuses on the importance of play, as through play children learn and develop.

By providing a warm, nurturing and secure environment we support children’s learning. We also acknolwedge the need to support repectful life enhancing relationships, by recognising the child as being capable and focusing on positive experiences, ensuring connections are made with the wider community. Our philosophy shows that we honour and respect all individual differences.

Our Program

Our program recognises and includes the child and their family in the context of our wider community. The program focuses on relationships within these contexts. The experiences we offer are rich with choice and aimed at fostering creativity within a social context, building on a child's independence and self esteem. We see the social construction of knowledge as central to our planning and programming. Children influence the direction and flow of our day, as do your (parents) comments and our reflections

The philosophies of the Emergent CurriculumNational Quality Frameworks and the Early Years Learning Framework are our biggest influences.

We acknowledge the children’s, educators, parents and community interests, whilst  providing opportunities for the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, moral and creative curriculum areas to be developed.
